Instructions for submitting comments are included within the proposal documents, available for download below.<\/em><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>GS-1 Sanitary Paper Products \u2013 Standard Revision<br><\/strong><br><strong>Summary:<\/strong> The market for recycled fiber has undergone dramatic changes in recent years due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tissueworldmagazine.com\/departments\/exitissues\/recovered-paper-supply-already-in-decline-hit-hard-by-the-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COVID-19 pandemic<\/a> and impacts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/e360.yale.edu\/features\/piling-up-how-chinas-ban-on-importing-waste-has-stalled-global-recycling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">China Sword<\/a> policy.\u00a0 Due to these changes, we are evaluating possible revisions to the sustainability criteria in our sanitary paper products standard, including the highly stringent recycled fiber requirements, to ensure they align with market needs as well as new sustainability opportunities for the product category. Through this revision, we will also explore potential certification pathways for sustainably sourced alternative fibers (e.g., bamboo) and will assess whether different leadership criteria are needed for the household market versus the away-from-home market.\u00a0<br><br><strong>Status:<\/strong> We are currently developing revised criteria with stakeholder and Working Group input.
