Michelle Gaither

Industrial Engineer, Pollution Prevention Resource Center

As an industrial engineer and environmental scientist at the Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC), Michelle Gaither leads PPRC’s efforts to identify environmental efficiency and reduced chemical exposure opportunities for the industrial and service sectors.

Recently, under a grant made possible by the Oregon DEQ, Michelle managed the Certification Assistance Program which assisted product and chemical manufacturers in certifying EPA Safer Choice products, and qualifying individual chemicals in the EPA Safer Choice Ingredients List (SCIL).

Michelle has more than 25 years of experience in pollution prevention and sustainability. Prior to this role, she coordinated recycling market development at the Clean Washington Center, and served as an Environmental Specialist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from University of Washington, and M.S. in Environmental Science from Washington State University.
