Lauren Heine
Dr. Lauren Heine is the director of safer materials and data integrity at ChemFORWARD and the vice president of the Association for the Advancement of Alternatives Assessment.
In her previous contributions to safer chemistry and alternatives, Heine worked with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the California Green Ribbon Science Panel, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment Safer Choice and Alternatives Assessment programs, the Interstate Chemicals Clearinghouse Alternatives Assessment Guide, and the Washington Alternatives Assessment Guide. Heine has also developed enduring programs such as GreenScreen® for Safer Chemicals and CleanGredients™. Before joining ChemFORWARD in 2019, she was executive director of Northwest Green Chemistry, where she remains an advisor.
Heine co-chairs the Apple Green Chemistry Advisory Board, which helps integrate green chemistry into Apple’s products and supply chain. She was a member of the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute Advisory Board for nine years. She has also served as adjunct faculty in the Center for Engineering Design & Entrepreneurship at Gonzaga University.
